"Four Things Keeping You Stuck Financially".
This story reminded me of what we can still do despite our situation or what we think are our limitations.
Recently, my friend Ethan told me this story he said, "Every year I go to Preston, Idaho…You know … that famous town where they shot the infamous film "Napoleon Dynamite". After Thanksgiving, they have a crazy event called the Bed Race and a lighted parade on Main Street to kick off Christmas.
At the end of Main St. they have a little deli. It honestly has the best food it town. Me, my wife and kids all stopped by for a quick bite. As I was eating, I noticed a whole bunch of photos of young to middle aged dudes sitting in front of a heap of food. I quickly thought, "Cool, a food challenge." Deep down I’ve always wanted to shove a whole bunch of food down my throat at record speed. But as I looked at the wall a little closer, I noticed ONE photo stuck out like a sore thumb. Right in the middle, with the best time and the most food pounded, was the picture of a young, petite girl. I could hardly believe it. I quickly got up, approached the counter and asked them if that picture was a joke.
"OH NO, it’s 100 percent real," the girl behind the counter replied. Then I got the rest of the story.
This young girl came into the Deli and saw a good friend of hers, Casey on the wall…he had one of the best times. Just to get his goat, she said, "I’m going to beat his time." (No one at the deli believed it). She orders a #2 on the menu and has a BIG lunch. Two hours later, she walks in the door and said, "I’m ready to DESTROY Casey… with a smile on her face." 14 minutes later, she CRUSHES Casey’s time and pounds the most food … and according to the Deli she swallowed each bite with a smile. I could hardly believe it. It’s ironic; sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
It was so cool to hear how she 100 percent believed she was going to win, even though she weighs only 110 pounds and was not a big burly dude. She CRUSHED all the men’s egos on that board, and she did it with a smile."
