More and more retirees are taking jobs just to make ends meet.
A good friend of mine, Brent, just told me this story… Just the other day I was traveling south of Park City, Utah and I stopped in a small town called Heber. I pulled into the Maverick gas station with a Wendy's inside. As I stepped up to order, I noticed a five foot two inch elderly woman washing trays. She had bands around her wrists to give her the strength to hold 2 or 3 trays at a time. She was quite older than normal people I see working at Wendy's… After I received my meal, I approached her and asked her name. She stood straight up, looked me in the eyes, and said, "Louise." Then I asked her age. In most cases it's not the smart thing to ask women their age right when you meet them, but I've noticed elderly women actually are proud to tell you. She once again, looked me straight in the eyes, and said, "I'm the wonderful age of 69." I asked her why was she working at Wendy's? Louse replied, "Well part of our Medicare plan changed recently and stopped covering my husband's prescriptions, so I work here 5 hours a day to cover that expense." I told her thanks and gave her a heartfelt smile. I sat down and started to eat my meal, and a few minutes later a young boy just a few tables over dropped his drink and spilled Coke all over the floor. I sat there in shock, as this 69-year-old woman, knelt down and started to wipe up the mess. In areas where snow is common, Wendy's put down rubber floors with round circles to help with traction. Louse got on her hands and knees, on the rough rubber floor, and wiped up this little boy's mess … When Brent told me the story, I realized we all have a Wendy's story. We've all know someone who didn't think they would be working at Wendy's at the end of their life. Most think it will never happen to them. However, the sad truth is most people end up having to work later in life and never have the savings for retirement. What causes this? Lack of discipline? Lack of knowledge? Sure, those can play a factor. However, I've noticed it is due to having the wrong approach. People get sucked into gambling their hard earned money away in the stock market casino and don't build a safe foundation, where you can grow your money without experiencing the downsides of the market. Recylce Your Income teaches you how to outpace inflation, build a Tax advantaged cash flow during your life, and if done correctly, create an income for life so your money works harder for you than you have to work for money. It starts with smart planning and developing a plan. Please give Recycle Your Income a call to get started on your safe money plan before you have to work longer than you want to.
